On June 26th, 2015, same-sex marriage became legal in all fifty states, marking a new age for civil rights. One would think that after this monumental decision, the rights of the LGBTQ+ community would be cemented in our society.
Unfortunately, that is not the case. The Justice Department of the United States has argued that workplace discrimination laws do not include protections for gender or sexual identity. Gay conversion therapy remains a tragic practice.
There is no reason that, in a modern society, LGBTQ+ rights should be up for debate. We are in an a society that should be based around tolerance, not hate. Skyler will always fight to protect the rights of those that have been so historically marginalized.
